About Me
I love being a therapist and consider it an honor to witness and support my clients’ healing and growth. I was initially drawn to the social work profession because I found myself aligned with its values of service, self-determination, dignity and social justice. I continue to be driven by these values and utilize a nonjudgmental, holistic and eclectic approach grounded in harm reduction and client empowerment. I engage in this work through an intersectional feminist lens and am LGBTQIA+ affirming. I have experience and confidence in working with people with depression, anxiety, trauma and substance use.
I started my career working in community-based mental health and worked in this type of setting for over 10 years, supporting adults with co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, youth on probation and their families, and justice-involved adults through individual, family and group therapies. Over this decade of experience I gained familiarity and experience working with diverse clients, utilizing a variety of interventions including CBT, DBT, trauma therapy, suicide prevention and motivational interviewing. Working in this setting also affirmed my commitment to social justice and accessible care.
In 2022 I deepened my interest in psychedelic-assisted therapies through experiential ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) and integration training. Since then I have provided KAP in-person and virtually, and have also facilitated integration groups for folks to support one another in understanding and incorporating new ideas and insights from their ketamine treatment. I truly value the opportunity to support my clients in accessing their inner-healer using ketamine, and look forward to providing other psychedelic-assisted therapies as they become available.
I recently completed Level 1 Internal Family Systems (IFS) training and enjoy offering this non-pathologizing approach to my clients. I integrate IFS with mindfulness and somatic approaches among other modalities, and let my clients lead as they are the experts in their own lives. Creating a calm and warm space where people can grow is something I pride myself on. The primary driver of my practice is not a specific modality--it is the client's goals and strengths.
Outside of the therapy space, I enjoy spending time with my partner and our cat, exploring the outdoors, and catching as much live music and comedy as I can. I do my best to take care of myself so I can show up for my clients with all of the curiosity and compassion they deserve.
